Career Week Helps Students Prepare for Life After College

Career and Professional Development hosted fun, informational activities to prepare students for that first career after graduation during this year's Career Week recently.

Free treats launched the week! Career Week kicked off with Handshake for a Cupcake. Students met faculty and staff members in the Pope Student Center where they practiced handshake etiquette and first impressions in exchange for a free cupcake. 

Resume Workshop

Mallory Safley, Assistant Director for Career and Professional Development, taught a class on resume building to make sure that you stand out! You don't have to wait on the next Career Week to help craft that perfect resume. Visit the Career Services Office in the Dean of Students Office for help year round. 

Professional Wear Fashion Show

Classmates came dressed in business professional attire from the campus Career Closet to show how to look your best for that job interview. Cosmetologists were on campus to demonstrate proper hair and makeup. The Career Closet is open Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Students came professionally dressed with their resumes in hand to speak to over 40 businesses and organizations that came to Dalton looking to hire full-time, part-time jobs, or internships!
